London 2013 - Affordable Art Fair
'Clifden Skies' 100x80cms |
The Doorway Gallery will be exhibiting at the Affordable Art Fair in Battersea, London, next month, and will be showing a large selection of my new paintings there. http://affordableartfair.com/battersea/
Unfortaunately I won't get a chance to get over there myself but if anyone would like invites to the show please let me know, or contact the gallery directly at www.thedoorwaygallery.com , they will be happy to send on some invitations.
This is the first big show of 2013 and I'm looking forward to seeing how some of my new work is received in London. Once of the pieces that will be on show there is 'Clifden Skies'.
This is a painting I started working on over two years ago! I got it to a certain point and then it just lay in the studio, as I waited for the burst of inspiration required to take it over the finishing line. Well it arrived last week. I've been really happy with some of the work I've been doing over the past couple of weeks and thought now was the time to try and finish it.

It could have something to do with the music I've been playing in the studio - lots of My Bloody Valentine and Led Zeppelin. I got the new MBV album, which is great, but it sent me back to their earlier album, Loveless, which is just incredible. And it's perfect music to paint to.
Anyway, here are some more pieces that have been born out of the beautiful, distorted noise of MBV, all of which will be on show in London. To see the full collection please go to my website at www.padraigmccaul.com
